Steve Lukather and Glen Campbell jamming (for guitar enthusiasts)

Two session musicians getting together. I like the respect Lukather had for Glen. And at the end when Glen tells Luke how good he is - you can tell it meant so much. Gold.

Two great guitarists. Lukather effed up when Glen was going to tell a story about Roger McGuinn - and he knew it. Also like when Lukather asked Glen about how many Beach Boys songs he played on (they were all uncredited) and Glen immediately answered, "well, all of them"...

...and Lukather made Toto. I was surprised that while the Porcoro brothers did Boz Scaggs Silk Degrees (and obviously toured w/ him) - he wasn’t involved. Not til the next album.

Until I read this thread, I didn't know that Glen Campbell played on the Righteous Brothers' You've Lost That Loving Feeling. That was my favorite song as 1964 became 1965. It reached #1 in Southern California in the closing days of 1964 and then sat on top of the charts for nine weeks, outlasting Petula Clark's "Downtown," which gave it a run for its money, but only made it to #2, where it stayed for about three weeks.

Finally, in the first week of March, the Temptations knocked the Righteous Brothers out of the top spot with "My Girl."

Incidentally, my current favorite song is Blue Is the Night, which shows that my tastes in music have changed radically.

Not Gonna Miss You movie is a sad, redemptive, enlightening, mesmerizing movie.

A must see for all and anyone affected by Alzheimer’s. (and those not).

Glen was a trip.

I have the genes or whatever. Told the old lady to drop me off to the nearest home and move on if I don’t get hit by a bus, ‘Cause I ain’t gonna miss you’.

If I ever get hit by a bus, I told her to move on anyways.

The documentary was so important and so great - yet it lost out to some woke documentary in the oscars. Just like Glen’s last song didn’t win best song at the oscars that year. Go figure. Merle said it best: “If there was ever a man given too much talent in one body, it would be Glen.”

Thanks for posting that. What a cool video. I didn’t see what year that was recorded. If anyone can pass that along, much appreciated.

It’s been on and off youtube a few times. My guess is early to mid 90’s based on the length of Glen’s hair.

I amend that - late 90’s, but not 2000’s.

Thanks and thanks again for posting. After watching “The Wrecking Crew” and “Muscle Shoals”, and the doc about the house band for Motown, I have developed a tremendous respect for the session guys that made all this legendary music who are largely unsung. The talent is amazing.
