Trump’s continued support for a failed and dangerous vaccine will so damage him among conservatives that it will end any thoughts he might have had of running in ‘24. The vaxx is now at its height of popularity while simultaneously being a losing issue among conservatives. The vaxx support among all Americans will decrease rapidly as events continue to show its worthlessness. The first primary candidate who is honest and denounces this vaxx for the failure it is will have the inside track in the early primaries.
The issue is the vaxx, taken voluntarily or forced, does not work! The mandate crap is not an issue among conservatives who are adamantly against people who continue to hype a worthless and dangerous vaxx. Just because you are misguided and trusting enough to inject his dangerous warp speed experimental and its regiment of boosters voluntarily doesn’t make it any less wrong.
No matter what Trump does, Root will claim he thought of it first and spend the first three paragraphs tooting his own horn because he predicted it
Throw every position possible at the wall, and the one that ends up eventually sticks is the ones he’ll be touting

He wants voluntary vaccination. The more informed consent on vaccination there is, the more doctors get to make their own decisions without fear, the less willing people are to take them. That works to benefit the public and against so called public health which is anything but under Covid.
Second, Trump is only one man. He is a businessman, executive, and administrator. He is not a scientist or savior. For four years, the primary goal of most of the Federal government was to undermine him at every turn. He could not have known every way things could have gone wrong and fought it all by himself, especially now that he is out of office.
In my view, his taking the middle position makes the most sense long term.
On Memorial Day 2020 did you know what was going on? Did you understand the entire Covid cluster f was being weaponized by Fauci against Trump? Why didn’t Trump see what was obvious to us? Why didn’t he fire Fauci? Trump did nothing to protect himself or us from this. I cannot forgive Trump for Fauci, Barr, Wray and the rest of his cabinet traitors still having their jobs at the end of his administration. The damage they did is indirectly Trump’s fault.
Of the tiny number of people who pay any attention at all to clowns like this, the vast majority just laugh at them.
He couldn’t fire Fauci. The media and the Left put Fauci on a pedestal. Career civil servant saving America and the world from certain death for 40yrs.
They did a fantastic job of propping him when he should be in prison for all the other dirty stiff he’s done over the years, let alone the gain of function stuff.
They painted President Trump into a corner on this.
He was impeached, in part, because of how he fired Comey. Can you imagine what they would have done to him if he went after Fauci.
He did go around Fauci though, when he met with that front line doctors that were successfully treating people and not following the Fauci/CDC protocols.
I agree with being anti mandate, and pro natural remedies and alternative treatments!!

That’s why Trump was destroyed. He was told he could not do anything or he’d be impeached. Couldn’t hire, couldn’t fire, couldn’t defend himself or American cities, couldn’t keep America working, couldn’t override blue governors and save our seniors. The list seems endless. Trump was completely cowed. All over the threat of potentially placing another unit onto the impeachment/coup assembly line.
No, the jig was up Memorial Day weekend. Those draconian Covid decrees, well, they didn’t apply to burning big blue crap hole cities. Fauci and the CDC were obviously coordinating with the Dems for political gain. Fauci and CDC were obviously making up Lysenko type BS as they were going along. If Trump didn’t realize this by then it’s no wonder he was taken out so easily.

Trump should be concerned with “irrational exuberance” over the vaccine.
Getting three vaccines approved in a year is an achievement. Now he cannot distance himself from this without undermining his record as a leader. I believe he was badly mislead by people who knew better, but he trusted them - so here we are. I just do not see how he can back this down without losing all credibility.

That is an incredibly effective statement and a winning campaign strategy. It has one major, correctable flaw. Trump does not address the shortfalls of the vaccine. He should acknowledge the potential side effects and urge caution on pushing for 100% vaxxed. He should state the obvious, if you’re young and healthy, do the risks outweigh the potential gain? As the public’s support for the vaxx continues to fade this strategy protects Trump plus it is the truth. An addendum to the statement should remind everyone that this current regime is incapable of the flexibility desperately needed on the vaccine. The originator, Trump, knew there would be shortfalls and is ready to use the vaccine in a thoughtful, safe manner.
Hardspunned - I cannot fault your logic, but it is filled with political pitfalls the dems. can drive a truck through. If he had the press - - maybe. I agree with your assessment, just tough to navigate. Trump does not back down an inch - and I suspect that is what he is going to continue to do.
