Wool blanket is better then a survival blanket.

A survival blanket is ok when you have to worry about weight or space. I carry one in my "oops kit" when I go for a day in the woods. But wool is much better.

I have an old Army entrenching tool (aka folding shovel) and an older Army rubberized poncho with a poncho line inside as my emergency blanket. It was a nice quick “sleeping bag” that I carried with me in the Army many years ago. Some folks know the Army/USMC poncho by the nickname “Wooby.”

Wool is good, as you say. Good to have both, IMO. LOL, it was 15 degrees yesterday when I got up, so we do get some cold up here.
