He and Rod Steiger together in “In the Heat of the Night” was just awesome.

One of my favorite actors. His performances in "Lilies of the Field" and "To Sir, With Love" were both remarkable and inspiring.

RIP, Homer Smith.

I was just talking on the phone with a friend, and he mentioned a movie filmed in our area starring Sidney Poitier. Then I pulled up FR and found he had died.

Don’t forget “Blackboard Jungle” about 10 years prior. Sidney was one of the hooligans to Glen Ford’s teacher. Vic Morrow was also in that one. Great movie, daddy-o.

Had lunch next to him a few years back as my friends and he shared great conversation.

What a truly gracious and nice man...

When I lived in Los Angeles a few years ago, I went to Mr. Chow’s in Beverly Hills, and saw Sidney Poitier and his wife having dinner with Don Rickles and his wife.

Don’t say that. There is probably a remake in the works with LGTBQRSTUVWXYZ plot lines.
