I think some of his best roles were in “The Slender Thread,” “A Patch of Blue,”, and, of course, “In the Heat of the Night.” He was a big-time lefty, but I have respect for his talent as an actor.

Nope. They are Michael Parkinson, Kenny Lynch, James Coburn, Clement Freud, Christopher Lee and John Conteh (according to Wkipedia).

The two black guys were the singer Kenny Lynch and former world light-heavyweight boxing champion John Conteh.

One of my favorite movies is “To Sir With Love.” I’ll need to watch it again this weekend.
