Funny, Guardians suing for allowing native American mascots in CO. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Indians are no more and are now the Guardians.
It’s about time native Americans speak up. Indian mascots are not racist. Same goes with Aunt Jemima.
I live in Ruidoso NM, home of the Mescalero Apache reservation. My wife is Apache. My kids are Apache. Heck, I’m Irish by ancestry but literally grew up on the reservation so much that I am literal ceremonial member of the tribe (done for the kids).
The public schools are predominately Apache, and called, respectively, the Warriors and the Braves.
We’re having a heck of a time getting sports apparel.
Sante Fe is doing its best to make us rename our school mascots.
It’s beyond stupid.

Everyone consider a few things.
First off, no one wants to name and cheer for something they despise.
2nd, to that point, perhaps uncomfortably, notice there have been plenty Indian team names, and no “black” mascots. In America, I mean.
If they are successful and Washington decides to become unwoke, it is only a short distance from Commanders to Comanches. Just change a few letters and you don’t even need to buy new jerseys.
The Tribal Nations have a good point, and are poking holes in the idea that white people should tell them how to refer to themselves.

Guess they are jealous that those mascots garner more respect than ANY liberal/leftist politician.
Examples are the Quaker oats guy, Little Debbie girl and Rosa of refried beans fame. There are a handfull of others.
Next, they should sue the Washington Commanders and the Cleveland Guardians.
Oh no. The use of Indian names is degrading to them. That’s why the Army gives its choppers Indian names. To degrade them. “Look, our choppers are worthless crap. That’s why we giver them Indian names.” /s
This is simply an example of totalitarian out of control govt. Why should they care at all? Because the voters are demanding govt control of everything. Yes the politicians are evil opportunists and power mad little hitlers. But the citizens are perfectly fine with the govt having its nose in everything.
Are these “Guardians” even Native American? Or just self appointed woke stewards suing other self appointed woke stewards? lol
Two of the now banned NA mascots, the Land O Lakes maiden, and the Washington Redskins Indian, were created by Native Americans.
