When our power went out during storms when I was a kid, my grandmother just lit the stove up with a match and the pilot.
(Can you still do that with modern gas ranges/ovens???)

As far as I know, I don’t see why not. You would just need that match for the gas rings, because the strikers wouldn’t work.

The last generation I checked you have to use an Aim 'n Flame to bypass the electronic ignition and light the pilot manually.

I got a GE in 2007. Lights with a match if the power is out.

Yep, that’s why I bought a gas range. It still functions with the power out, light it with a match.
