Does anybody have Russian friends? I have several here in Alaska and they all hate Putin, but claim Ukraine has been part of Russia for over 1000 years. Russians in the Ukraine are second class citizens; same as ethnic Germans are hated in Russia. My friend and his wife escaped Siberia in 1992 and have done well here in Alaska, American citizens now. Involved with Orthodox church, very high class people. I think there's two side to every story.

Well Ukraine does mean “Border” it was allwas the Border with the west

The issue in part is the Ukraine is in part made up of pre ww2 Russia and parts historically Poland taken at the end of WW2...I thinknthe also some Old German Prussia land mix in or did Russia absorb all that..

Eastern Europe Border historical never seen to stay stable for long

I’m not going to get that excited about Russia Reconquests... Putin just need to put Sombrero on his troops and Biden will welcome then with open arms
