Russia sanctions: to really hit them where it hurts, we must ramp up our oil and nat gas production to take away their main source of income

Not Ukraine shutting it off, they won’t have a choice. The gas enters Ukraine from Russia and flows on to Germany. If Ukraine starts shooting at Russians, the Russians will turn off their gas. Then Ukes cannot send it further downstream into Poland and Germany.

That makes sense. If Russia sold it to China, then China could re-sell it to somebody else. That would be acceptable because China pays out bigtime bribes to our politicians and Russia doesn’t. Therefore, Russia is bad. Plus Russia doesn’t let children sit on the laps of drag queens either. That really makes them evil.

Most of that is coming from Siberian sources.

How will Russia sell energy to Europe if the Nord Stream2 is not allowed to operate.

Between increasing Norwegian, Qatar and US LNG, and tapping reserves, Europe has more than enough to get by the winter.

Most of America does not know about that deal. If Putin gets too much push back on his actions he can simply shut the gas off to Europe and watch them freeze while their economies crumble. America is not equipped to sell Europe gas at present due to Biden so we will not be able to rescue them again.

Biden is never going to make moves to favor domestic oil production. In his best day, it wasn’t in his DNA. And now he’s just a pathetic, clueless old fart who barely remembers Jill’s name.

You know, like most of us here, I knew and predicted that the Biden administration would be an utter disaster for this country. On one level, I feel schadenfreude over the Biden s-—show. You know, half of America and most of the rest of the world had this crazy, irrational hatred of Trump, so they cheered the election of a doddering old dementia patients. AS the saying goes, how’s that workin’ out for you? At the same time, most of us have to live in this country and all of us have to live in this world, and Biden’s utter incompetence has disastrous consequences for more or less everyone. In other words, it’s hard to feel schadenfreude when we’re all harmed by him

They always claimed that inflation would skyrocket if the mighty petro-dollar collapsed. With everything else combined it looks like one of those 'perfect storms' may be coming.

Good article there too about our gasoline EXPORTS approaching record highs. I bet that's good news everyone here will enjoy.

Despite tight supply, US refiners export most gas in three years

Good macro NG information. But Norway can up its capacity. Russia provides about 1/3 of needs. So, it will be tight and prices will increase, but Europe will get by, they aren’t going to freeze. They have been preparing for this for a long time.

The reliance on alternative energy has proven to be a failure, put politicians are screwups. Business will get them through this if Russia invades.

Making the Euros burn more coal is going to be a huge lesson in regards to Russia.

I have been in both Ukraine and Germany, when Putin turned off the gas. And in the winter.

He was simply just pressuring political parties in Ukraine, and showing Germany who was boss.

Russian economy would also collapse.

I remember reading an article recently about how silly the alternative energy policies in Europe are.

One of the reasons Germany relies so much on natural gas is that they’ve pretty much outlawed coal, and “alternative energy” forms like wind and solar power have been an abysmal failure. It reached the point of absurdity when Germany decided to deal with the failure of these energy sources by simply declaring that — get this — natural gas is now a form of “clean energy.” LOL.

“Want to bet the Russians or ChiComs paid the Democrats to draw down production?”

They did pay during the Cold War to get the Democrats on their side, that much is proven.

But today, no need, there is NO SHORTAGE of useful idiots for them on the Left. No need to waste their money. If you want to blame anyone, blame the ‘Greatest Generation’, who were too busy making money for their suburban lifestyle to bother with raising their kids...but instead handed them over to hard Leftists in public schools and then universities.

“Their more likely response would be for Biden to blame others and double down and make moves to further ensure their ability to steal elections.”

Which is what HB1 was. The Republicans (most of them) joined the Democrats in looking the other way at The Steal. The deal was that once they all got rid of the Fascist (Trump), then things would ‘get back to normal’ and the somewhat fair elections would resume.

Those Republicans were SHOCKED because the Democrats had other plans (HB1), but they were also cornered, since, by being part of The Steal, they were forced to play along. Thankfully, Trump is slowly weeding out those people.

“Do any Freepers believe that “sanctions” will result in the flow of Russian oil and gas going to Germany diminishing or stopping ?”

Only if the sanctions have teeth, which I don’t think is possible regarding Russia anymore (we’re about sanctioned-out, and they don’t need us anyway).

But, if we go beyond sanctions, such as stationing troop in the Ukraine, then the Europeans will need some very warm blankets and lots of candles.

“Between increasing Norwegian, Qatar and US LNG, and tapping reserves, Europe has more than enough to get by the winter.”

Just promising to do that will get Putin’s attention. But have they promised? Nope. Why? Because they’re now unable to do that, just as they’re unable to stop the flow of ‘refugees’ from the Middle East.

All a logical result of letting women vote.
