IMO, the vast majority of those who served in the Middle East for the last 20 years have earned my respect every bit as much as those Americans who fought in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.
A lot of people, even on this forum, want to piss on them because they didn’t like Bush, they didn’t like the war, or whatever.
After Vietnam, I didn’t speak up when people vilified our veterans. I vowed never to be a silent partner to that abuse again.
Our vets who served including Boomers, have earned honor and respect from me, and probably you. The real question is: will later generations be worthy of that same honor, or will they turn into tools of a totalitarian government?
That does worry me.
