Paramount Pictures actress Laurel Goodwin has passed away at the age of 79, her family revealed in an obituary.
Goodwin, who has worked with the likes of Elvis Presley and Jackie Gleason, died on February 25 in Cathedral City, California.
'If she knew you, you quickly became family,' read a line from her obit.
Laurel was born in 1942 in Wichita, Kansas and signed a contract with Paramount when she was just 19 years old.
She would go on to co-star with Elvis Presley in the 1962 musical comedy Girls! Girls! Girls! as Laurel Dodge.
In the flick, Laurel finds herself the object of affection of both Elvis and actor Jeremy Slate.
Following Girls! Girls! Girls!, in 1963, Laurel worked with Jackie Gleason and Glynis Johns in Papa's Delicate Condition.

“Laurel played Yeoman Colt in the pilot, titled The Cage, which was filmed in 1965. According to her obituary, Laurel was the last surviving member of the cast”
In case you are wondering, William Shatner was not cast in the pilot.

That was the Jeffrey Hunter as Captain Pike pilot episode, with Majel Barret as Number One, Leonard Nimoy as Spock, and John Hoyt as Dr. Phil Boyce.

In case you are wondering, William Shatner was not cast in the pilot. Nope, she was with Captain Pike.

I missed that whole Star Trek series.

Her character was the one that the alien egg-heads described as having "strong female drives" LOL.
Since Pike was supposed to choose between here and Number One (played by Gene Roddenberry's wife), I've often wondered if Roddenberry threw that line in to poke fun at his wife. LOL

I think that best describes Kirk and his various female Yeomen and a wide variety of alien women

I caught the joke.
After STOS and between STNG and ST:DS9. They had to fit it in somewhere!

That’s akin to asking if Wings was Paul McCarnetney first band.
Hopefully you forgot the sarcasm tag.

That is a very catty thought. Wow, but it sure matches Roddenberry’s sense of humor.

The Pike character will be returning in May - Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Supposedly ditching the universe that the current ST is in - the one with all the in-your-face PC, LGBT, whispering dialogue, nappy haired black super woman that saves the Galaxy form all threats.

The “Keeper” (the main Telosian) was played by a woman, Meg Wyllie. The other two main Telosian’s were played by woman as well (but voiced by male actors).

Not guilty. She couldn’t know what a never ending drudgery ST would become.
