US to send anti-tank missiles to Ukraine [2017 Trump Flashback]

President Donald Trump is expected to announce his approval of a plan to sell anti-tank missiles to the Ukrainian government, a move that would mark a significant escalation in lethal U.S. military support for Ukrainian forces battling Russian-aligned forces in the border region, four State Department sources tell ABC News.

If the president formally signs off, the plan will be presented to Congress for a 30-day review period where it would need to be approved before the State Department can implement it.

The sale of anti-tank missiles, which could possibly include the U.S.-made Javelin system, provoked a strong reaction from Russia on Saturday, saying it "crossed the line," and could threaten to derail Trump’s calls for better relations with Moscow...

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that sale “will once again motivate the hotheads” in the Ukrainian government and "unleash bloodshed again." The head of the Russian parliament’s defense committee, Vladimir Shamanov, also condemned it as a “sophisticated and irresponsible step.”..

President Barack Obama considered selling and financing anti-tank missiles to Ukraine in theory but never approved the measure...

Trump promised a reset with Russia, but there has been concern that arming the Ukrainians might hamper that move.

Could Ukraine have survived Putin's initial attack without the anti-tank weapons that Trump provided them?

I include the Kremlin comments so that those supporting Putin will know what the party line is.

Why was Trump supporting Soros and the neo-Nazis?

PS. Thank you, President Trump. Your foresight is giving Ukrainians a chance to resist the invaders.

Not only the Javelins and other weapons, but training and tactics on their employment. For an instructor it’s always good to see your students apply their new skill effectively, especially to defend their own soil.

The Trump administration did much more to support Ukraine than any previous administration, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told Fox’s “America’s Newsroom” on Monday.

He said that former President Donald Trump set up intricate intelligence ties and equipped Ukraine with arms and training they are currently making use of to fight back against Russia.

Pompeo said that “if you look back, you think maybe we could have done more, but we did an awful lot more than any administration ever had, and it was the kind of [military] equipment that not only was useful, but that they could train on readily.”

He added that “it’s important not to give them things they can’t use, but we gave them the kinds of things that you’re seeing them now deploy. And we gave them the training to know how to use it as well.”

Pompeo said that “our intelligence community was sharing everything that we possibly could with Ukrainians [and developing closer ties]… so that we can make sure they have the info they need to defend themselves. ...”

Putin would never have invaded if Trump were still President. And even if he did, Trump would have approved the transfer of the MiGs.

He also would have led the charge for crippling sanctions to 100% cut off Russia’s funding of the war, i.e. a total embargo on oil and gas. The embargo would have been replaced, at no cost to ourselves, by ramping up domestic production.

Trump was already painted a Neo-Nazi by the press and this was despite his supposed “anti-war” rhetoric. If Ukraine was invaded under Trump’s watch (and Trump responded forcefully), the howls of dictator would have been even more deafening than they were. Trump needed a war like he needed more Dem-controlled metropolitan areas in swing states.

That happens in pretty much all conflicts. They might even be using them against Russian tanks and BTRs captured by the Ukes.
