Nonsense, Russia is totally in control of their future. Leave Ukraine and all the sanctions put on will be released.
Unfortunately, Putin may be beyond such rationale thinking.
However, if I were a Russian father with a reasonable amount of direct or indirect access and information, I would likely view Putin as a father that has no regard for his own children in a nuclear holocaust and take appropriate action. (And most certainly if I were well-versed in actual Russian history.)

Especially since a lot of the immigrants — legal and illegal — will beat feet back to their home countries. Lots of Democrats would leave, as well.
I think those of us who stayed, and did not abandon America, would probably be okay.
If Russia (and China, and us, and everyone else) would simply behave, working together would be beneficial to ALL of us.

Khrushchev, although largely a bureaucrat during WW2, kind of had that “hero of the Soviet Union” gig going for him with the populace. I wonder how Putin is viewed?
