Was there last Summer. Neither of my kids wanted to ride it.
Really big for a 14 YO from what I can see maybe in excess of 200 lbs.
The last one or two of these types of incidents involved obese people. It is likely be that they can't be restrained properly because of their girth.
Mostly it becomes a CG or containment thing which indicates poor design of the restraint system or inadequate screening of the riders. Either way, someone will pay big time for this one because one size doesn't fit all..
Pretty good chance he might have been doing something stupid!!!
There’s an amusement park in Vallejo CA with a thrill ride that eventually reconfigured the seat restraint to fit heavier people better. My skinny son had ridden the ride many times before they reconfigured it and felt secure, but after it was adjusted there was so much room that he was terrified his skinny body would slip out.
So he never rode it again.
I think it’s hard to get seat restraints for these types of rides that fit both very heavy and very skinny people well.
The related article in the NY Post notes that this 14 year old 'kid" was 6'5" and weighed 340 lbs! Given his size and weight he probably exceeded the ride's design limits.
From the NY Post article:The heartbroken dad is demanding to know why his 6-foot-5, 340-pound son was even allowed on the ride after he was stopped from getting on others due to his size.

Those things been around at least 30 years
I know i have been on one a few time at six flags ma.
That one looked super duper...very modern...expensive
