Too many of us were unwittingly complicit in our silence regarding those who disrespected our men who came home. It was a mistake that cannot be undone.
The past cannot be undone. This country made a terrible and grievous mistake by allowing that disrespect to take place.
However, the wrong can be recognized, and we can make sure that heinous behavior is never again visited on those who honorably served at our behest, or at least not done in the vacuum of craven silence as it had been all those years ago.
And it sure as hell won’t go unchallenged in view or earshot of me or the type of people I know.
