A veteran New York state judge killed himself less than two weeks after his home was raided by investigators, according to one of his attorneys.
John Michalski, an acting justice on the Erie County Supreme Court, died by suicide Tuesday at his Amherst home, where federal and state law enforcement officers had executed a search warrant 12 days earlier, the Buffalo News reported. He was 61.
“It’s heartbreaking,” defense attorney Terrence Connors told the newspaper. “He was such a good guy. This just didn’t have to happen.”

Knowing what the search warrant was searching for would be a good thing to know.

Hmm, usually when I hear someone committed suicide after a police raid, it’s because they definitely were not a “good guy”, and were ashamed to face the consequences of whatever nasty things they had been up to.
Probly under age porn or something.
Little boys or little girls are probably involved.

From reading the article, I suspect he was ‘mobbed up.’
Amazing that in a world where almost vices are allowed, and many are encouraged, some people still find a way to get themselves into trouble.

His actions tend to give the raid some credence that there was a possibility that the judge was involved in something illegal. Of course, that does not mean he actually was.
