Hundreds of Chinese surgeons and medical personnel have been accused of killing death row prisoners by removing their hearts for transplant even before the inmates had been officially declared dead, in a new academic paper.
The findings, according to study co-author and PhD researcher Matthew Robertson, were that Chinese surgeons might have carried out a final coup de grâce in an execution process that began in front of a firing squad or through lethal injection. Even if the prisoner survived that trauma, removing vital organs would cause certain death.
China considers data on the death penalty a state secret, but it is thought to be “the world’s most prolific executioner“, according to Amnesty International, and while organ harvesting from prisoners is officially banned in China, the secrecy makes it difficult to know whether the practice is continuing.
A 2019 UK-based tribunal on forced organ harvesting in China concluded that “forced organ harvesting has been committed for years throughout China on a significant scale” and that most organs probably came from prisoners and practitioners of the banned Falun Gong religious movement.

To do any organ transplant the person has to be alive, not dead, for the organs to be viable.

Are wealthy Europeans, Asians and Middle Easterners ordering these harvest fresh organs on an as-needed basis?

The bodies used in the “Real Bodies” exhibits that displayed plastination preserved corpses were purportedly Chinese prisoners.
Would anyone be surprised or shocked if the above, or organ harvesting, was proven to be real in communist China??

I am of the opinion that the condemned should have the option to donate their organs as part of their death sentence. I doubt these Chinese condemned have that option.

I think that they would define death as unable to self-sustain life without machine support and lacking in brain activity.

They are killing two birds with one stone. Getting rid of criminals and saving lives at the same time. We don’t do that but we do engage in capital punishment so I only see an issue with dissidents being taken out. Saddam Hussein’s heart could have saved a life. He took more than a few.
