“Asia Kate Dillon (Malcolm), who is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns — as does Malcolm in this production — is particularly flat and struggles with the character’s important speeches.”

Flat in more ways than one....
From the same review:
“...Negga, far from the center of the play, barely leaves a mark. Together, she and Craig have no spark. Gold has them awkwardly make out in their first scenes, but after that, they stay far apart from each other, making their lack of chemistry more apparent.”
Yeah...I saw her...uh...their bio at Wiki. Interesting:
“Dillon was born in Ithaca, New York. They are non-binary and were assigned female at birth.[28][29] Dillon explained that around 2015, they began removing gendered pronouns from their biography, and auditioning for the part of Mason helped them understand their gender identity.[3][4] Dillon is pansexual, stating they are attracted to multiple genders.[30] In September 2021, Dillon told The Hollywood Reporter’s “Hollywood Remixed” podcast that they use the word “non-binary” because their “gender identity falls outside the boxes of man or woman.” They stated that gender is a spectrum, without a binary that was “created by colonists and imposed on the indigenous peoples,” and that “sex is not a binary either.”[31]”
