Outrage as NRA to gather in Houston just days after Texas school massacre
Counter-protests expected as about 55,000 NRA members to attend event, including Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and Greg Abbott
Just days after the deadliest mass school shooting in Texas history, the National Rifle Association (NRA) – America’s leading gun lobbyist group – will meet a few hours away in Houston on Friday.
Ashton P Woods says they are not welcome in his home town.
“These people are coming into our community. The city of Houston needs to kick them out,” said Woods, an activist and founder of Black Lives Matter Houston. “We have to be just as tough about these things as they are.”
Woods is helping organize one of several protests planned just outside the George R Brown Convention Center, where NRA members will browse through exhibits of firearms and gun paraphernalia and hear speeches from key Republican leaders.
The goal of the Black Lives Matter protest, Woods said, is to “get loud” outside while powerful speakers – including the Texas governor, Greg Abbott, Texas senator Ted Cruz and former US president Donald Trump – take the podium inside. Woods said the issue of firearms was particularly important to the civil rights group that primarily tackles issues of police brutality in America.
“Whether it be death by suicide, death by cop, death by mass shooter, we need to control the access people have to deadly weapons,” Woods said. “These things are interconnected.”

"The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a division of the Department of Transportation, estimates 42,915 people died in motor vehicle traffic crashes in 2021, a 10.5% increase from the 38,824 fatalities in 2020. The deaths include pedestrians, cyclists and others who may have died during a crash."
Seems apropriate...more NRA members, less murders
The answer the Democrats will come up with is armed guards for every school.
They will be unionized and support the Democrat party.

It would be psychotic to be mad at the NRA for what happened at that school, given that guns were banned there, a policy that is the exact opposite of what the NRA endorses.

If the BLM “community” disarmed itself, deaths by guns would decrease dramatically.
I have argued for years that FR should include or require an addendum to a posting that declares the political leanings of the post itself. However, I talked myself out of it when I could figure whether to call the Guardian Trotskyite (TY), Marxist (MX), or Communist-Progressive (CPR).
About the only thing democrats don’t do in the wake of these tragedies is go to the scene of the crime and register the victims to vote before their bodies cool. Given time I’m sure they’ll start doing just that.
Yeah, “they” were outraged when the NRA had their convention in Denver not long after Columbine. Denver PD escorted us in to the meeting. Heston was great.

If the NRA speakers have any balls they'll forcefully address why the 2A is more important than ever in a nation whose Commucrat 'leaders' play catch & release with their out of control constituency.
The NRA Annual Meeting has been planned here for a year. So, was this massacre planned for that long?
The Guardian... Outrage... Ashton P Woods... Black Lives Matter... kept reading... stopped caring.
Now that the Democrats occupy the Oval Office the news has new marching orders. BLM and ANTIFA (remember them?) are yesterday's news and yesterday's talking point activism, and yesterdays activists. BLM is no longer current and is now history.
Looking at how the news is covering BLM I can predict the next two years, never mind that the Guardian is British and not a American newspaper. After the Democrats lose the midterms, which they will, they will spend the next two years on focus groups finding another hot button issue to sell and creating or subverting existing groups to manufacture artificial pressure on the Democrats to take action they are planning to take. It is all so very Clintonesque, so very predictable, and unfortunately, has worked for them for the last 30 years.

Time to make another donation to the NRA and other gun rights groups.
