Get off the Chinese dollars; it’s like cocaine. Don’t let the ChiComs run roughshod.

Will Hollywood listen? Of course not.

“In the original 1986 classic”

Classic? Really?

I guess I’m in the minority....I hated that movie.

I worked briefly as an Air Force contractor, interfacing with the Taiwan Air Force. TAF, pronounced taff. Air Force personnel are explicitly prohibited from displaying the Taiwan flag in any manner on Air Force facilities, or in any manner that might suggest a defensive alliance or agreement with Taiwan. When USAF officers visit Taiwan on official business, they always travel in civilian clothes. There are understandings between the U.S. military and Taiwan, but nothing in the form of a treaty.

IMO,
Tempest in a teapot
It was not uncommon to have a cruise jacket for each Med Cruise or Westpac, or whatever deployment.
I'm pretty certain Capt. Mitchell would have several!
I understand calling out close ties to the Communist Chinese and their demands for access to the Chinese marketplace.
This though was a little much, to me any way.

The Chinese can find ways to remove the Taiwanese flag patch. But if were the CCP , why the heck would you allow this movie to play in China?

So funny I was in China in 2013.. and in the airport I see a Chinese man wearing a Flying Tigers jack with the blood chit on the back.. this has a big Nationalist China flag as part of it....I was really surprised

There was absolutely no issue

I’m sure that the Flag has been changed on the Movie version that will be viewed in China. Its not that difficult today to insert different graphics on film.
