Bell’s Palsy?

I had this. Work up one day and the right side of my face didn’t work - wondered if I’d had a stroke.

Went away over a couple of weeks - although for some it never does.

Bell’s is sometimes the result of surgery/anesthesia. I had a friend who had it after surgery; it went away in a short while.

That’s a typical first diagnosis, but not accurate.

My better half got RHS a couple of years ago, and fortunately was properly diagnosed.

It’s essentially a form of shingles (in the ear, in my wife’s case), with permanent effects if not immediately recognized and treated.

In my wife’s case, an ENT specialist and acupuncture have been extremely beneficial.

She is still symptomatic with the facial paralysis, but you’d never notice if you weren’t aware of what she’s gone through.
