Our pastor 20 years ago visited the place. He had photos of the beautiful windows and arches from the inside. For some reason he went out the back door, and there tossed in a pile of construction debris was the babtismal font. A really sad photo.

Believe me, you’re safer there than NYC. My son met a Turk at Rutgers. They’re there 15 years . Folks are kind, courageous. Don’t miss it. So much history. Best airport in the world.

The Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque were on my bucket list at one time...and Istanbul in general. But I decided they were nothing to lose my head over.

Its been muzzie for 500 yrs and it did just fine.

Guess they don’t teach their kids to respect stuff any more that we do ours. Or to work with any more dilligence than some of our contractors do.

I was there last week and the floors were covered with carpet. I thought it was odd since the marble is one of the highlights and it was exposed when I was there before.
