Oscar Mayorga accused of driving drunk in marked car
Body camera video released by the Eustis Police Department shows an Apopka police officer being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in his marked car.
The Apopka Police Department said Eustis police conducted a traffic stop on Oscar Mayorga, who was wearing his uniform. Mayorga, 25, was scheduled to work Monday evening when he was stopped, according to a news release.
Police said one of his two breath tests was 0.391g/210L, which in nearly five times over the legal limit in Florida.
According to an arrest affidavit, there was an open can of beer in the car’s cupholder and officers smelled alcohol on Mayorga’s breath. Mayorga told police he was on his way to work and that he took about three Benadryl pills a few hours before, according to the affidavit.
Mayorga was then asked to get out of his vehicle and he almost fell several times while walking to a nearby sidewalk, according to the Eustis Police Department.

30 years ago I was looking for something in a storage room of our office building and found a file cabinet full of empty beer cans. Eventually figured out it was a woman in my dept. who was day drinking on the job.
The company pres. was compassionate and said biz would pay for rehab but she declined it and I had to fire her.
Good thing Paul Pelosi doesn’t live in Florida. Yet.
It doesn’t work like that here in the Buckeye . I have a friend , retired deputy , that drives around completely blitzed . He just pulls out his retired cop card and they let him go every time . Sometimes they will follow him home to ensure his safety . I would say that if I was stopped slurring , stumbling , and wobbly I would get to stay in jail all night . But one beer is my limit . Point 08 is just about one and a half beers for a guy my size to blow yourself into jail and $2500 fine . Laws are for the dirt people .
I would hazard a guess that the same exact thing would have happened with Paul Pelosi if he hadn't caused an accident thus making it impossible to cover up.

One night we had a guy brought in who was absolutely legless. We sent an ETOH level out on him and as I was getting the results on the phone the patient was getting up to leave (against medical advice). The tech gave me the result and asked "is this guy breathing?" and my reply was "not only is he breathing,he's leaving".
