“I went to Home Depot’s site and they’ll take back anything, and they specifically mention gas powered tools.”
Problem is home depot doesn’t carry still.
When I did my research it came down to stihl v/s Echo...which home depot does carry....if you get out from under your stihl maybe consider echo.
First rule about Stihl, NEVER buy the products at Home Depot.
those are too cheaply made.
Ryobi has 2 yr warranty
HD sold me an extended 2 yr for up to $149.00
I have every receipt since the purchase including repairs/returns/etc.
Purchased June 2020
broke about june 2021
Ryobi replaced with brand new one
broke again June 2022
Ryobi repaired broken part
We just got THAT repair back last week and two hours in, the stringer head broke and needs to be replaced, but my model is discontinued
Fought on the phone yesterday for about three hours and finally got someone who found a bar code w/numbers needed for HD to even talk to me.
Will continue today.
Does anyone have any preferences for string trimmers?
I DO know they're ALL short lived and etc.
Lowe’s and Home Depot will take back unused gas powered tools, but only for a limited period. If you buy something and decide you don’t need it, return it promptly.
My Echo backpack blower is more powerful and cost less than neighbors Stihl which broke after a year.
