Well said. It boggles my mind how many of the ‘educated’ on the other side believe in this tripe, lock , stock and barrel.
Talking about this topic with my PhD friend from The Ohio State University, and simple common sense statements questioning the veracity of claims made in these studies, movies like “An Inconvenient Truth”, myriad predictions made that never come to pass, or simply pointing out characteristics of the oxygen cycle or photosynthesis that run counter to the Global Warming/Climate Change narratives, serves to bring this person to an absolute state of apoplexy.
It literally turns a conversation into a confrontation; “Dude, the science is settled.” or “You cannot be that obtuse.” or “I understand photosynthesis, don’t patronize me.”
I love these conversations, but am floored at how immovable the other side has become on the matter, despite the endless facts to the contrary.

I’m not entirely convinced they do. It’s like being a lawyer; you can convincingly advocate for one position or the other depending on who pays the retainer. Debate societies will have you make a case then switch places and make the opposite case both with equal passion and persuasiveness.
So, for the ‘educated’ it’s not an issue of believing but rather one of effectively arguing a point. Truth, consistency, intellectual honesty are quaint concerns of the faceless masses and fanatical rubes. They themselves answer to the higher calling of pushing forward a political agenda.
