The Indiana doctor whose abortion on a 10-year-old girl was used as a talking point by the left and doubted by conservatives has hit back at her detractors - including the state's attorney general, who she is suing for defamation.
The account asserts the unnamed girl was forced to seek an abortion in Indiana after her home state of Ohio barred abortions, and became a flashpoint in the debate over abortion rights after it was shared to a local newspaper by an unnamed source last month.
The story soon came under scrutiny - with pundits, politicians, news publications and even personalities clashing over its veracity following last month's controversial overturning of Roe vs. Wade.
That initial doubt, however, was soon quelled, after it was revealed that the rape had taken place, and that a 27-year-old Ohio man has been charged with raping the girl.
Records further revealed that the abortion also occurred, days after the historic ruling- and that Indianapolis obstetrician-gynecologist Caitlin Bernard was the doctor who performed it.
Speaking on national television Tuesday, Bernard slammed politicians and news publications who questioned the story's veracity, after the Supreme Court nixed federal rights for abortions in June.

Bring on the suit. The State of Ohio, with effectively unlimited resources, will gladly pursue discovery to show that the description is accurate.
Notice it doesn't say "had been charged".
Also this "doctor" is quite obviously an activist and quite an opportunist as these activities prove.

I don’t think abortion should be used as basic birth control, but that’s not what this situation is.
In this case of rape, with a 10 year old victim, I would support it if done early. That 10 year old should not continue living with that mother. Mom is too concerned about
keeping her paramour and breadwinner.
EVERY doctor who performs abortions (except those medically necessary to save the mother’s life or in the case of rape, incest, etc. etc.) should be arrested, charged with murder, tried, convicted and sent to prison!
What part of “First, do no harm” do these “doctors” not understand?

Sending the abortion decision back to the states is a good start for ensuring that more babies are born to enjoy the “. . . Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. . .” the Declaration of Independence declares has been given to all humans by their Creator, and which governments are created to protect.
HST, I believe, in my heart of hearts, that abortion is murder, pure and simple! Some states agree with me. The states that are “abortion sanctuaries” are, IMHO, EVIL places, and there will come a reckoning!
There are 63 ++ million American souls in Heaven who would probably agree with me!

The Rumor is that the 27 year old was listed as a minor in the paperwork from this baby killer.
One must be particularly hardened to dismemberment to be able to utter the words, come spend a day here, while referring to an abortion clinic.
He'll rule in her favor even before the case goes on the docket [or rather, his law clerks will rule in her favor].
The youngest female to ever give birth was 5 years old. With proper medical care she was able to do it safely. She is still alive to-day and has outlived her son. I believe she is in her 90’s.
Yes she was raped. Seems she was one of those unusual girls who began her period at age of 3.

I’m sure she had to have a lot of things explained to her as they were happening. I’ll bet she vividly recalls certain parts of that experience even today. This is what can happen when a parent is not paying attention or is in deep denial.
Those two adults (mother and her lover) are the ones responsible for all this, but the doctor should have reported the rape BEFORE the abortion.

Dr. Bernard seems to like to equate abortion to healthcare. If the mother is healthy and the baby is healthy during the pregnancy (which is by far the majority of cases), how can an abortion be about health care. When I was in middle school I remember in history class, we learned about some of the ancient societies sacrificing their infants to the volcano gods to appease them. Now, millions of babies in our society have been sacrificed on the alter of convenience. Dr. Bernard has been well compensated for her role in this murder mill. God help us.

You hit the nail on the head. I’m sure every state has a duty to report. It seems clear the doctor did not report the crime of abuse of a minor.
I still want to know how Biden knew about this story before anyone else, even local authorities...
