Prowling and a-growling
And a-sniffin’ the air
He can smell a fire
Before it starts to flame
That’s why they call him Smokey
That’s how he got his name.
They taught us that in elementary school and I remember it to this day. We also learned how to play it on the recorder.
It’s a different country now.
Throw in a human beat-box and a few M-Fs and it would be brought up to date.
