New York gets everything they deserve.
So does California, and the rest of the left-leaning large cities, because in elections for Attorney General, U.S. Senators, and Governors, the big, liberal cities elect those offices. Even though most New York Counties are red, it's the few blue counties, especially the downstate ones, that elect those top offices every time. Chicago hasn't had a Republican Mayor in over 100 years, and New Orleans hasn't had a Republican Mayor since 1870, and so it goes. Democrat-run cities are always shitholes. It's a given.
I was born and raised in Rochester, New York. The last Republican Mayor of that city was Stephen May who served from 1970-1973. I left that area in 1973 and moved to the Utica-Rome area. I've lived here since then, except for a 3-year period when I took a job with NY State Corrections, and had to move to Auburn, New York, until I could get transferred back to this area. Retired in 2003.
