Zion National Park officials have provided additional details regarding the flash flood that left one person missing Friday.
Multiple hikers were reportedly swept off their feet by a flash flood in the Narrows near the Temple of Sinawava.
Later in the evening, the National Park Service received a report of a hiker, who has been identified as Jetal Agnihotri of Tucson, Arizona, who was “overdue from a trip in the Narrows.”
Officials say that during the initial response, park rangers found an injured hiker who had been swept downstream several hundred yards. That hiker was taken to the hospital in a National Park Service ambulance.
Rangers also found several hikers who were isolated by high water on high ground. Those individuals were instructed to remain in place until water receded, when rangers were able to assist them to safety.

Maybe it’s Joe Biden as no one has seen em in days. He may have wandered off and no one know where they put him last.
Has he croaked, and they’re hiding it while Slick Willie ‘grooms” Harris on “how to do it right”? Inquiring minds would like to know....LOL
My theory is that they are hiding Joetato so he can’t accidentally admit that he had foreknowledge of the Mar-a-Lago raid.
Not too tough to identify a flash flood.
“...Jetal Agnihotri of Tucson, Arizona...”
Which Native American tribe is that?
I’ve been through the narrows twice. Simply astounding - gorgeous. The water is shallow for the most part but can be deep and treacherous in some areas. I cannot imagine trying to forge a way with a flash flood. It would and always is a disaster in the making. Steep walls and in some cases, no way to easily climb out. Hope they find all of the hikers alive.
Last time I was in Zion we came across a small party setting up a couple of tents in a perfect location - nice, flat, level ground with a layer of sand and fine gravel and a little ridge on either side...with a park ranger just getting out of his truck to tell them it was a very, very bad idea. And it did rain that night.
Oddly enough, she apparently is in the Grad program of Hydrology & Atmospheric Sciences at UA https://has.arizona.edu/people/jetal-sutariya-agnihotri
It’s a Hindu name.
Despite not being able to swim and her friends not wanting to walk the Narrows, she was determined to do it. Sad, but predictable. May she RIP if she is gone. They have not found her yet.
