Hope to have something to show after the weekend. I have an English Paper Piecing project that I work on in the evenings when I can stay awake! I’m also working on a memory quilt, this one is custom and it stumps me. The T shirts are black and have rhinestones in various colors and then there is the fabric (multi-colored floral) that the family chose. I also have to incorporate a piece of the son’s clothing. He passed about three months after his mother. This is the last of a series of quilts for my friend’s children (and each one has something of their brother’s in the quilt). This will take forever to quilt since you can’t run over the rhinestones with a long arm and I’m a relatively new long armer. I have one more quilt to make after this one but I think I can take an existing pattern and plug the clothing into it.

I saw that one, glad you posted it .... I used to have a cat that I loved dearly, but she was vindictive if I did something she didn’t like. She would definitely have gotten “revenge” if I put something like that on her!

“This will take forever to quilt since you can’t run over the rhinestones with a long arm”

I was going to suggest hand quilting, but with rhinestones that also would be a problem.

I don't remember if I CONFESSED last month, but if I did, I'm doing so, again. I spaced out and didn't get my afghan registered in time for the County Fair. I even called and plead that I was a, 'forgetful old lady' but she wasn't buying it, LOL! So, here's the finished afghan (Crochet, Caron Simply Soft yarn) that depicts Four Seasons of farmland in, 'The Driftless' which is the 'hilly' part of Wisconsin where we live. The Glaciers skipped over us for some reason.

Please ignore my bland bedroom - I'm trying to get MOTIVATED to paint it and put up the new artwork, wall-mounted reading lamps and big area rug to tone down that Bubblegum Pink carpeting - which was here when I moved in!

My daughter and I are in sewing season right now. We help an Etsy business make baby clothes adapted to help Mom and caregivers. The clothing is adapted to accommodate G Tubes, J Tubes, Ostomy and Trach babies. It’s wonderful to hear how these small items help make everyday life a little easier.

As the weather gets less enjoyable and the garden and canning are done we will switch to knitting and quilting.

I finished these PJs for the 6 year old: https://sewing.patternreview.com/review/pattern/184726
and she got them today.

Also finally got to give her 6th grade sister, the kimono and top set I sewed a few weeks ago, which she seemed to really like. (Or she is just TOO polite?)

Anyway, after dinner, I showed her some other fabric choice options from my stash, and she quickly picked out 2 more for the kimono pattern, so will start on those next week.

I have been enjoying my sewing time these past few months, but still get that feeling sometimes that I JUST want to sew, and not be bothered for a day or more, with all the other little daily routines. Is this normal to feel this way?

LOL—especially the one of the enormous scarf... always check your gauge. Reminded me of this hat I tried to crochet :(

I am so impressed: not only did you finish something, you finished something HUGE!!!!! And it looks great!

Me—the one with lots of unfinished tiny projects. 😕

“Is this normal to feel this way?”

It was normal in my house, growing up. Mom always had a dedicated sewing room. She is an AWESOME seamstress. I am somewhat of a disappointment to her in that area, but she neither knits or crochets, so she appreciates that in me. And my vegetable garden kicks butt, and she loves raiding it. ;)

It wasn’t unusual for her to ‘go in’ for a few days at a time, especially if she was working on a Wedding Dress or anything else that required her full concentration.

Or else she was just drinking for a few days straight, taking a break from husband and kids. We’ll never know, LOL!

It’s my Winter Project each year. I think this is the 5th one I’ve made with that pattern. It’s just Half-Double crochet, but quite a few color changes.

My last two won Blue Ribbons at our County Fair, so I’m still kicking myself that I couldn’t pull of a Hat Trick this year!
