I can see how you could cheat playing online, but how do you cheat in a real tournament?

Chess moves are recorded using a simple notation such as "Nf6" or "Bc3."

It would not be that complicated to develop a body language with a willing partner (such as somebody in the audience) to communicate those moves to the player. The body language could consist of innocent moves such as crossing your legs, turning your head, checking your watch, rubbing your nose, etc.
