I have a friend who basically opened a travel agency so she could get discounts on the many cruises she takes. (Oh, and she was clearing about 100k a year too. Don’t know what it is now because of Covid.) She said she wouldn’t go on a Carnival Cruise if it was free. She said the problem was the relative low class of the passengers. Also, the food was second or third rate.
The best way to sail Carnival is to fly to San Juan, PR, and cruise from that port.
You price out all the riff raff from all colors of life.
I booked one out of Galveston a few years ago at a much lower price point and easier port to access. The difference was... noticeable.
Gotta go on the expensive ones to keep those type of folks away.
I cruise a little bit. I like getting as local as it is safe in ports. I was in a really nice shop and struck up a conversation with the saleslady there.
She had A LOT to say about “those people on the Carnival Cruises.”
Going on a Carnival Cruise is like locking yourself in a Walmart for a weekend.
