We just watched a docu-series produced by Robert Redford. The episode focused on union troops stationed in the south to be sure the blacks were being treated fairly following emancipation. Also the election of Hayes v. Tilden — “The Compromise of 1877”.
We were surprised to hear the phrase, “ ... the white supremacist Democratic party”. In a Redford film.
