What I remember most is retail packaging was never quite the same after that. Everything came triple sealed up and then “child proofed” as well, and then anti-shoplifting became a thing, too. Fricking Houdini couldn’t get out of some of that stuff, blister packaging .10” thick
But people shouldn't have to die to make these things happen.
Adult-proofed, too.
I always suspected it was someone tied to either the packaging industry, or people trying to make it harder for small businesses.
Having to have sophisticated packaging equipment produces a barrier to market entry - the per unit cost of making a million packages is much less than the unit cost to make a few thousand.
