Everyone in the world knows that they weren't going to do that.

If colleges were willing to use their endowments to cut tuition they would be doing it already.

Not punitive damages and maybe nothing except legal representation. You cannot go out of your way to get sued and then expect insurance. Negligence leading to a personal injury is one thing. An intentional tort is quite another.

More or less, they had become a activist-training center....not a legit university.

This fine was a way to re-educate the leadership of the college. If they continue their ways? I doubt if they survive the next decade.

They could have used some of it to pay an excavation company to bulldoze it to dust. These progressive colleges are destroying civilization.

Yes, Oberon has liability and tort insurance. Oberlin’s insurance carrier refused to cover the judgement as Oberlin’s acts were malicious, intentional, self-inflicted and outside the scope of their policy. In other words, Oberlin’s did not have clean hands.

Yep. For once these virtue signaling losers get punished for their venom. One would think this would be a precedent for other so called “tolerant” folks to stay in their lanes but it won’t be. Leftists cannot help themselves. They need to force their agenda on everyone that disagrees. So very American.

With that kind of ranking, why would anyone want to go there? Why does it even exist?

Wahhhhh. Gibson’s Bakery has rights to and the Ohio Supreme Court issued the final move in upholding and defending them. Pay up Oberlin!
