It’s puzzling that you presuppose my posts on this proposition so problematic, but, nevertheless, I will ponder your proposal over another potable.

Peter Piper picked a peck of pampered pigeons.

They are probably homing pigeons and will fly home from whatever event they were rented out and released for.

There is a guy in my area who races pigeons and also does pigeon releases with white birds for weddings, etc. He loves and spoils his birds and wants them to return so he can rent them over and over. No doubt a few get lost or intercepted by hawks from time to time, but most get back uneventfully...they are racing pigeons after all, not slowpokes.

That’s in the wild.

Pigeon pets can live past 20 years. One of mine died at 12; the one I have now is going strong at about 14.

Actually, I had mixed feelings when the homing pigeon died; he was never happy - he was a rescue and had flown; and I got him too late.

The feral, gotten before fledging, is a jolly guy, and I’m convinced he wants to beat the 20-year mark.

They are now just a bright target for predator animals, Not entirely true.

Dogs and cats have limited color vision...their normal vision is similar to a human who has red-green color blindness. For example, red may appear brown or gray.

Hawks and other predatory birds do have excellent color vision, much better than humans. But they also have much better vision overall where color distinction may not make as much of a difference as motion detection does.

OH NO. Pigeons at risk of predators. If there’s one thing we need are more city dwelling pigeons.
