Yes there were questionable calls, but if Bama was good enough, they should have won regardless. Great game for the Vols.
That said, was it targeting? And was it facemask interference? Maybe regardless, the Tide could have won the game.
Same goes for roughing the passer, they should just make quarterbacks wear dresses, like Jack Lambert suggested.
‘Bama gave up 52 points.
I watched the game as a Bama fan and saw calls called poorly. Both teams have reason to be a little miffed at the officiating. Especially in the era of video replay.
Look up the term “Bama Privilege.” I don’t ever want to hear Alabama or Auburn complain about officiating. Ever.

Sounds like a democrat arguing about elections.
If the republicans were just good enough they would have won even if we cheated.
Don't buy it.
In sports or in life.
Be consistent.
And if you can not put aside your personal feelings and go strictly on the merits then find a new job. Perhaps lawn care would be a good field. Or wood chopping.
He shouldn’t cite the NFL, after last week’s call of “roughing the passer” for a simple tackle of a QB where the defensive play even took the brunt of the impact by hitting the ground first.
I watched. Lots of bad calls - more than the average game.
ThT said. The Tide had 17 penalties and lost by themselves.

When you have at least one arm wrapped around the receiver before the ball arrives, and you are visibly pulling the other player away from the ball, that is pass interference.
For the off-side and false start penalties you have to know it was so loud it set a record of 124 db. As far as the pass interference, Bama had to do something because the Vol receiver had 5 (count ‘em) FIVE touchdowns. Last summer Hyatt caught 15,000 balls in practice and the number one wide receiver was out. This was Saban’s first loss to the Vols as Bama’s coach, he didn’t like it.
Tennessee didn't win because of the men in striped jerseys, the won because of the man in the crimson polo shirt.
Do you know the difference between a toddler and a Bama fan?
Eventually a toddler outgrows whining!
Use the instant replay
With 25 seconds left on the clock and the game tied, Alabama called three straight running plays, then still left a 50-yard kick for a right-footed kicker from the right hash mark (not a statistically ideal predicament).
The field goal attempt was well wide, giving Tennessee the ball the ball with 15 seconds still on the clock and two time-outs remaining. At that moment, Tennessee’s offense was hot and Alabama’s defense was not.
According to ESPN’s “Probability Metric,” in those ten seconds, Alabama’s odds of winning the game went from 67% to 18.5%.
Alabama lost because of the team’s lack of discipline (17 penalties, a school record) and Saban’s mismanagement of the clock.
Saban also is doing a pathetic job pf emulating the coach who put Alabama football on the map, Paul “Bear” Bryant.
And did you ever see an uglier field goal kick win a football game?
Bingo. I coached kids’ baseball. When they whined about calls, I told them to beat not only the other team but the umpires, too. If he’s calling low ones strikes instead of balls, SWING at them.
Every team gets bad calls and good calls. Just take ‘em and play.
Yes the refs made bad calls.
The call Saban is whining about was 10000% correct however. Clear pass interference on the Bama player.
Legalized sports betting will destroy NCAA sports probably sooner than professional sports.
