I don’t think they should have traded for him. They are already too much of a “win now” team without a quarterback.

There a lot of teams in the hunt "without a quarterback". Jalen Hurts is hardly a household name. Kirk Cousins is nobody special. Daniel Jones was considered a bust by many. These teams are on top of their divisions or have very good records.

You can win a Super Bowl with a Nick Foles, a Brad Johnson, even a Trent Dilfer.

Garoppolo brought them to the Super Bowl before, so he can do it again. They aren't Buffalo, or even KC, but Eli Manning and Nick Foles weren't GOAT, except for three times. Football is funny.

For the record, I despise the 49ers, and hope the trade doesn't work out, and that they wasted the salary space.

I think Kirk Cousins is pretty good. He passed for 4,000 yards three times on Redskins team that had nothing. Some of those years they had no decent receive.

You are right about Dilfer, although I think he made the Pro Bowl in '98, he was not that great they won the Super Bowl, or most other years. Brad Johnson was not that bad. Nick Foles is an awesome quarterback, if he's on a team with decent coaches. He could have been league MVP in 2013. Eli Manning is not an elite quarterback, but he played well enough a few times.

But you give the quarterback all credit, even if he's carried by the other 21 starters. In 2019, Garoppolo was okay at best, but he was surrounded by a great team.

Garoppolo and especially Shanahan are programmed to do terrible in the fourth quarter, if they had a lead.

I predicted in September 2019, that if the 49ers made the Super Bowl, they will lose after having a double digit lead in the 4th quarter.
