The battle is not Marxism versus capitalism.
The world we are headed toward, sooner rather than later, is Hobbes’ leviathan, a world of all against all. Anarchy. Lawlessness everywhere. Greens attack Democrats. Anti-Trumpers confront MAGA types. Meta, Google, TikTok and Tencent intermediate and administer and enrich themselves throughout.
We have all splayed our digital selves all over the world, without privacy or even self-respect. Each of us is vulnerable in the extreme, open at all times to attack.
Hobbes (Ch. 13, Paragraph 1): “For, as to the strength of body, the weakest has strength enough to kill the strongest, either by secret machination or by confederacy with others that are in the same danger with himself.”
We have taken so little care to protect ourselves that each of us is vulnerable to everyone else. Our digital identities are too easily appropriated, distorted, erased, leveraged ... People can find us digitally and destroy. People can find where we live and lie in wait. ...
There is a lot to fix. The petty skirmishes that tie us in knots are distractions, intended to keep us from the larger issues. And it is foolish for anyone on this site to take any satisfaction in the fact that this attack on Pelosi did not come from the right.
I am an optimist, but there is great urgency in turning toward the larger issues rather than the inconsequential noise.

Eh, I used to own (of all things) a big chunk of a private prison. The KKK/Aryan Nation is still parasites, perverts, and psychopaths. Most were Democrats, just openly racist instead of in the closet (apparently like Paul Pelosi).
