I don’t know that she didn’t, but maybe nobody asked her. Coretta King passed away in 2006, and Roberts said it then. We don’t know that the Kings actually did pay for Julia’s delivery, but we do know that the Kings’ daughters attended Roberts’ parents school, and Roberts might have grown up believing that Martin and Coretta King did pay the bill. In any case, this isn’t the first time she said it, though the media is acting like it is and they all have the exclusive scoop.
