The “T4 program began in Novemebr of 1939 and was ended in October 1940 because Germans citizens protested the ‘’mercy killings’’. They didn't have any qualms about Jews being killed it was non-Jews the German population being killed they were upset about so Hitler quietly ended the program.
This was the only known public out cry about a particular Nazi policy the German people had a problem with.
