She probably does not own a car and cannot understand why anyone else would want one when they can just ride mass transit or call an Uber like she does. Just like renters who keep voting for higher property taxes.
The bigger issue, which goes completely over most liberals’ heads, is the skyrocketing cost of diesel fuel. Everything that you buy was transported (usually multiple times from manufacturing to the store shelves) in trucks using diesel fuel.
Not just trucks.
All rail traffic moves on diesel/electric motors.
All container/cargo ships crossing the ocean run on diesel.
All commercial fishing vessels run on diesel.
All farm tractors, combines run on diesel.
So, IF you do not need food or clothing, you will be okay without diesel.
