The Florida bar is investigating a member of mass shooter Nikolas Cruz's defense team after she was recorded sneakily flipping the bird on camera and chummily laughing with the convicted mass killer.

Tamara Curtis, who is on Cruz's defense counsel, is being investigated due to an inquiry based on her behavior in court, a Florida bar spokesperson revealed a day after Cruz was sentenced to life in prison and avoided the death penalty.

Cruz, 24, killed 17 people and injured 17 more when he engaged in a shooting rampage at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida in 2018.

Her behavior prompted one parent of a victim to accuse Cruz's defense team of 'losing their humanity towards the victims' last month.

Fred Guttenberg, the father of 14-year-old victim Jaime Guttenberg, said he will 'never, ever forgive that moment' Curtis laughed with Cruz, and likened her behavior to 'an immature, punk child.'

In the recording, Curtis can first be seen spotting a new camera set up and pointing it out to a colleague beside her.

Curtis, her colleague and Cruz appear to discuss the camera before Curtis waves without looking at it.

She then decides to press her middle finger up against her face, seemingly as a joke, and she laughs with Cruz as she does it. Meanwhile, her colleague attempts to move on awkwardly.

News of the inquiry comes after a heartbreaking two-day hearing in which parents of the victims slammed the behavior the behavior of Cruz's defense.

I've never seen anything this bad by a lawyer in a court room, except maybe when Hillary Clinton went after a 12 year old rape victim.

I saw it...Nothing was going on at the time...trial wise...as far as I can tell...don't get caught up in worthless nonsense.

Pay attention to the fact that 17 died...and Cruz lives.

This was pretty bad. Both of the lawyers should have been dragged out by their hair and strung up.

Of course, it wasn’t their kids, nieces or nephews that died that day so they don’t care.

Sometimes it’s hard for me to comprehend just how little the Left cares about anything.

Sounds like a sleazy defense lawyer trying to get a mistrial.

So sue the bitch like the parents of the Sandy Hook victims have used their dead kids to make money.

I think the judge missed it, although it was caught on camera. She should be sanctioned and suspended.

She then decides to press her middle finger up against her face...

I seem to remember a President of the United States doing the same thing not all that long ago.

True, but decorum in front of the victims’ families should be observed at all times, whether or not the defendant is guilty. They are officers of the court, after all.

Yep, context.

Correct me if I'm wrong...(as low-life as the gesture was)she directed it towards the "cameras" in the courtroom, not the court itself(as many made it out)...right?

I only watched bits and pieces on youtube.

I don’t think the court was in session at the time...first she waved to someone...then some blah blah blah...then the gesture...it was meant for someone...but we don’t know who or why....we have a missing piece...who it was for...

Could be. Back in the 70’s radical James Kunen wrote a op ed that addressed why he wanted to represent violent criminals. He wrote the theoretical reason was that the defendants were poor and disadvantaged and deserved the best counsel available. But Kunen mused that maybe he just identified with the violent criminals and wanted to get them sprung because he wanted them to hurt more people as revenge on whitey culture. I believe it is a true attitude of many criminal defense types.

I used to deal with them a lot.

Young ones full of piss and vinegar. Gonna save the world

Older ones, knowing that about 97% of their clients are guilty as sin, just went through the motions and, maybe, tried to lower the sentence.

But, you’re right, there’s an underlying thread that runs through them all. It’s that typical hypocrisy where they aren’t effected by the chaos and violence, making them completely out of touch with the victims.
