Yeah, right before the midterms. How helpful.

I’d have to see the context, but had just read that DeSantis said he wouldn’t challenge Trump.

Why do people keep assuming that DeSantis is Trump’s competition?
To: bigdaddy45
This is where Kari Lake and DeSantis himself are better. Much more controlled with language.

If true that’s not a good idea...for several reasons.

Trump needs to reign in the ego. SMH.

Historically, Trump has made a nasty remark in response to a first strike.
Did Desantis attack Trump?
If not, this tells us more about Trump than Desantis.

I doubt that any DeSantis voter in Florida is going to switch their vote to Crist on Tuesday just because Trump referred to him as DeSanctimonious. DeSantis is in no danger - he is going to win his re-election and likely by double digits.
In the next segment of the speech (that nobody is talking about), he mentioned that he would appoint Ted Cruz to the Supreme Court because both Republicans and Democrats would vote to confirm him - just to get him out of the Senate.
Trump is now in campaign mode for 2024. He brought his big campaign plane with him tonight. He all but told the audience tonight he will be announcing in the coming days. Only reason he hasn't announced yet it because he doesn't want to take the attention away from the candidates that need to win Tuesday night.
People forget that in 2016, Trump mowed through 17 seasoned GOP opponents. He was not nice about it. This is how Trump campaigns, whether some of us like it or not.

Is this real?
Some people posting on that twitter thread are swearing that it's fake, they were there, and it didn't happen.
Others are arguing the opposite.

It’s not a word, but I think Trump thinks it’s the opposite of sanctimonious, which would then be a compliment.

They will compete, and spar, in 24, but none of the attacks on each other will be really mean or vicious. None will really stick.
The contest will be lively, draw tons of attention around the world, and will energize the base.
At the end, Desantis will prevail, and Trump will support him.
VP candidate will be Kari Lake.

I just voted for DeSantis to be Gov for another term. He better not run in 24 as Trump will have my vote. We in FL need him here in FL for as long as possible. We dodge a big bullet with Gullium.
