I haven’t seen anybody (I’m sure I missed some) state the real cause for the loss (and yes it was a loss) by the GOP.
ABORTION!!!! No doubt in my mind that that was the game changer.
Also Donald Trump (who I have supported since 2015) also hurt the GOP badly with his making it all about him. His rally performances in recent weeks have been embarrassing
If the GOP could not beat Biden and his sorry crew in the current climate, they are finished.

wins and losses exist in the eye of the beholder; the Pubs will win the lower chamber, as was predicted, and have made the Senate a tight race to the end, as was also predicted...it will all turn on GA, which we won’t know until December; win and take 51 seats and control (fwiw I predicted 52)...
otoh, if Walker loses, as he easily might, then nothing whatsoever was gained, with the upper chamber tied at 50...
What a lot of people don’t seem to realize or have not mentioned is that the R v W decision affects men too. What man wants to face the prospect of seeing his wife or girlfriend go through a nine month pregnancy carrying a rapist’s baby to term, and then face the prospect she might not want to give it up for adoption? THen you have to decide, do I help feed this rapist’s kid for 18 years, or do I leave my wife or girlfriend? Or given the fact that some extremists say the next step will be to stop birth control, consider those implications. You are a responsible man, you want children, but you need to work hard to build up the financial basis to be a responsible parent. So you and your wife decide the timing for having children to mesh with the demands of your work or business plans. What, no birth control? What kind of shxx is that? I thought America was a free country.
