Too bad the reporter didn't do some basic research before writing up his story.

The soda stealer is not educated in Climatology, and apparently doesn’t understand outliers either.

For me, “Minimum Hurricane Nicole” in NE Florida this was just a long period of stout winds, 30-40 max, and 3” of rain. YMMV. NOTHING to compare to Cat 5 Ian in SW Florida.
The big effect was on Florida east coast condos and homes built right on vulnerable parts of the beach.

Just a HUGE wind field with storm bands covering from Miami to Savannah, that ate away huge amounts of beach sand, with 48 hours of on-shore gales. Many condos that used to have swimming pools, decks, dunes, and a beach, now have the open Atlantic licking right at their pillars.

To go from the condo to the new beach, you’ll need an 18’ ladder. Straight down. Into the water to your knees. Crazy.
Just do an image search for “Daytona Beach Hotel Condo Hurricane Nicole”/past day.

It’s not about science anymore. It’s a cult that encourages knee-jerk reactions.

Yes, just barely, when it hit the beach.

But it was HUUUUUGE.

See above.

The November 1935 hurricane was stronger, 94 mph versus 84 mph gusts and probably stronger gusts that were missed in 1935. Not only did 1935 give us that storm, it gave us the Labor Day hurricane in SW FL, a bit further east than Ian, but much stronger than Ian.

Shellenberger: Climate Fanatics Are Weaponizing Mental Illlness
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/michael-shellenberger-elites-cheer-climate-narcissists
The fanatical elites who are weaponizing mental illness are also waging class war. They are against cheap energy & industrial capitalism because they lift up ordinary people and close the gap with the elites, who want distance & inequality.

Let’s be clear about what’s occurring. Rich fanatics & the news media are weaponizing mental illness to advance a radical, anti-capitalist agenda. That’s textbook psychopathic behavior: lack of empathy, lack of control (panic), and anti-social behavior.

It was clear from the beginning of Thunberg’s stardom that she suffered from an anxiety disorder,

Climate Change is a Big Government, Big Business scheme Big Government gets to raise taxes and Big Business gets to cut expenses in name of “Going Green” or “Saving The Planet”.

Makes sense for Bloomberg to put out this propaganda.

Meanwhile in 1913 a largely forgotten storm over the Great Lakes (night of Nov 9-10) sank dozens of lake freighters mostly on Lake Huron and ran up a death toll near 300, so imagine what Bloomberg would be saying about that. Or 1975, the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald (night of 10th-11th Nov). There was also the Armistice Day storm of 1940 which was a sudden blizzard in Minnesota that was the doom of dozens of unsuspecting hunters in the back country there. The moral of the story is, check the forecast if you’re planning a cruise on the Great Lakes on November 10th.

Ian wasn't cat 5. They say strong cat 4 but that's not correct either. The peak gust on land which is the only objective measurement was 140. That makes it a category 3.

No, it didn’t even make it to hurricane status.

It was a tropical storm.

Never had them before “climate change”.

Pregnant and nursing men of color most negatively affected.
