A glaring example of why Dims don’t want to clean up any voter roles.

And yes, it definitely is me; same name, middle initial, birthdate and address!

How many times have you voted there since 1994?

I was going to ask how many times you've voted RAT there since 1994, but that goes without saying.

In 2007, I finally completed the post-Katrina sale of my home in the metro New Orleans area, & settled in Texas. I had purchased a home in Texas in 2005, but didn’t transfer my voter registration until my LA home was finally purchased in 2007 by a young couple who wanted to return to that hellscape.

During the 2018 midterms, curious, I phoned the Jefferson Parish Registrar’s office & was astonished to learn I was still registered at my old address, despite the Texas Registrar having sent a notice of change of registration!

The employee told me my continued registration was some kind of “policy” wrt to the “Road Home” program, in order to allow Katrina refugees to continue voting in LA while “temporarily displaced” in other states.
She assured me my status was “inactive” meaning “I” hadn’t voted for several elections.

She also informed me I’d need to drive there (430 miles) “in person” and produce photo ID —in order to have my registration removed!!

I ranted a bit, hung up, called back, learned the young couple who’d purchased the house were also registered at my old address, and then I called the Times Picayune and a New Orleans TV station to give them the news tip. Whether anyone did a news story I don’t know.

In the aftermath of 2020 I checked the LA 2020 voter registration website. I’m not there.

I assume my ranting is why I was removed.

A few days ago, however, I got a weird text message asking if I planned to vote— in LA!
My cellphone number is one I got after moving here and has a TX area code.

I stared at the text for a moment— and the sender deleted it! Poof. Gone. Before my eyes.

What does any of this mean?
Who the heck knows. I’m exhausted.

This is actually what she was doing. Her father died last December, had been living at her house, and he received an absentee ballot. To receive one you have to request it here. So she went in to clear it up and have them take him off the voter roles. And while she was at it, she checked on her mom’s status, only to find out she had been voting after she died. The interesting thing is that they were very reluctant to take either of them off the voter roles and it was only after her going into her tough mode that they finally did it. And let me tell you, that woman can be tough.

Huh? How can a sender delete a text on your phone? Once an SMS message is sent, the sender has no control over it.
