People with long Covid suffer physical alterations to their brain, a study has shown.
MRIs of patients still suffering with symptoms six months after the initial infection show clusters in parts of the brain linked to fatigue, headaches and cognition.
These include areas in the frontal lobe and the brain stem.
The Indian researchers behind the study say it is the first to show that Covid causes physical changes to the brain which last months.
Other studies have found that the virus can also cause changes in other organs such as the heart and lungs.
Long Covid is not a specific condition with a set diagnosis, but instead an amalgamation of different symptoms with tenuous links to one-another that have been placed in the same category.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that one-in-five adults that are infected with Covid will suffer these symptoms.

Good thing there’s a vaccine for this thing. No wait......
Sounds more like “Long Biden” symptoms.
This is an important study. Some People who get the vax also get brain fog.
So do people with Fibromyalgia.
I get it periodically for some unknown reason but havent had an MRI.
by the way, my brain fog is so bad I just have to go to bed. Once I sleep for a two or three hours it’s gone. I still can’t track what brings it on.
Bump
Just as it was bio-engineered.
They are presuming that Covid is the cause instead of perhaps the people already had the problems and just noticed it after they got sick because they were told to look for “long Covid”.
I know people who talk about their long Covid as if they are proud of it. Such martyrs…….
there are a lot of factors in play.
it’s possible there is a susceptibility that is turned on by covid or the vax.
there is an office with the national institute of health that looks at environmental factors such as vaccines that might be causing myositis.
I have a genetic predisposition to several autoimmune diseases. I fully believe a vax (not covid vax) turned it on and now I am testing positive for it.
I wish I could find the off switch for my issues.
If you smoke pot everyday, you’ll never notice the difference.
Seriously, I hope you find out whatever ails you.
Indian studies.
Covid fearmongering, ludicrous on its face.
Brain plaques are visualized histopathologically after death.
Have you had your blood and endocrine system checked?
I think cortisol has an effect on lethargy.
Hmm ...
Never vaxxed. Caught covid from wife Aug 2nd ish.
Never got real bad, did the ivermectin, d3, zinc route
Blood work before covid always tested negative for anti-bodies.
But 2 months after, still negative on antibodies, while the wife was a wopping positive.
Haven’t been breathing 100% since. Get long-winded very fast. Only 6 ft and 165 lbs.
Since my anti-bodies are still negative is that an indicator of long-covid? Am I still likely to get covid again?
I was having one of my incidents and found a tick bite. One may have nothing to do with the other. However, because I couldn’t get the tick out in an adequate way I decided to take some doxycycline that I had on hand.
I saw an immediate change in the way I felt.
Apparently, some people do really low dose doxycycline for a variety of issues including rosacea.
I will probably give it a try since I know trying to work within the medical paradigm will not find a solution for me
No way I am taking it long term but going to try to see if it straightens some unknown thing out.
I felt the same way after Covid, but the again that has happened with other colds and flus I have had in the past.
Covid is not the only viral illness that sometimes takes a couple months to get over. It happens.
I have no idea what level of immunity you have from it and/or if the antibody test is significant in showing that.
Yes, my metabolic system is jacked up in a number of ways.
I will say that any Senior whose B12 is under 400 should look at what Mayo Clinic has to say about that
Just antidotal, but sometimes I see a correlation between my brain fog and how deep into the REM cycle I am when I wake up.
You might want to see a doctor... then again if you’re watching yourself - and what might trigger the condition - you could be helpful to others.
Ping. This may be of interest.
