Oh, crap. Something just occurred to me...
If the shortage of amoxy is manufactured could it be because kids who’ve gotten the jab are now allergic to it...
And, if so, the shortage is being used as an excuse to not prescribe in order to cover up evidence of the allergic reaction...?
Daughter had a ton of trouble getting amoxicillin for my 1 year old grandson. Never ever seen things this bad.
Last year during the holidays there was a cream cheese shortage and supply chain issues……..those were the good ol’ days.

I had both covid and strep throat about a month or so ago. Covid was no problem, about 4 or 5 days of the sniffles, I’ve had worse colds.
They gave me Azithromycin for the strep. When I got home from the doc’s, I looked it up online and it’s pretty much a second line treatment for strep, usually for those allergic to penicillin, which I am not. Makes sense now. Worked ok on the strep.

The furniture industry went to China in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s along with the textile and apparel industries.
One would think pharmaceutical production would be highly automated and not labor intensive. Therefore the savings from producing in China and India would be relatively small. Could it be pharmaceuticals followed the chemical industry offshore? When raw materials were no longer available in the US it made sense to locate the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals where chemicals could be obtained. Chemicals likely moved offshore due to heavy regulation.
The ugly truth is that China in the 1990’s and 2000’s targeted specific industries in US supply chains. They knew that when key components moved offshore, the rest of the supply chain would follow.
