They re-introduced elk in Southern WV a couple of years ago.
Some were from KY and some from AZ.
Herd is doing pretty well according to DNR, if you can believe what they say. WV DNR has credibility problems here.

After spotting an Emu standing in a cow pasture one day, an Elk was not really that impressive.
